Life as usual!

It is good to have a very "Normal" Day. I did have to work in the morning, but I was home by 4pm and could enjoy time with the family. Russ took care of everything around here, just like he always does. The children all got their homework done in record time. Russ is completing the granite vanity top in the master bed room. I have just spent the afternoon, being very lazy and enjoying my children. Nick and Ashley went to a dance at Nick's school last night and now they each have a new "friend". Nick spent much of the day texting his new friend. I'm not sure how I feel about that. They seem to be growing so fast. Well, it's time for bed and I can't wait to snuggle with Katie.

I Love My Life!!!

I love my life. I had a fabulous weekend. My Mother and Father in-law came to our house on Saturday and spent the night. We had a great time and even went to a museum in Lowell Ma. Then we came home and had a fantastic dinner (by a wonderful chef :)). I made pasta with meatballs (for the meat eaters) and eggplant Parmesan (for the non meat eaters, or for those who just like it). We also, had salad, homemade bread sticks, and red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting for desert. The conversation was great and the kids really enjoyed seeing there grandparents. However, I think they were really thrilled that Grandma and Grandpa brought their new puppy with them. The kids played and played with her. I even think that our puppy Sandy got a little jealous. Last night I went to bed and listened to the many sounds of the house. Grandpa and the boys watching movies, Dad working on taxes, and Grandma reading in her bedroom and rejoiced in how very lucky I am and what a wonderful family I have been given.

Conflict

Today started out to be a very wonderful day. I had tons of phone calls to make and I got through them all and found out some wonderful news and some OK news, but all in all it was a successful morning. Then I had to work the 2nd shift. So, I went in to work and it started out fine, but somewhere along the lines my attention just faltered. I couldn't concentrate on what I was doing, and for a nurse that can cause some difficulties. Maybe, I was sensing the struggles that were occuring at home, I'm not sure. However, when I arrived home at 1145 pm I found most of the lights in the house still on and when I walked in I could feel the tension. Our daughter has once again decided to disregard her homework. She is failing this class and has decided not to study for a quiz tomorrow. She is becoming very rebellious and I am struggling for the answer on how to get her back on the right path. I know that the only way this will get better is to turn it over to God. My heart breaks for the choices she is making for her life and I am powerless to change them. I remember the day that we adopted her and the dreams I had for her, and now she is creating her own future, even if it is not the one I would want for her, only she can change the path that she is on. So, tonight as I get ready to go to bed, I will listen to the sounds of my children sleeping and thank God for the many blessings that he has given me and pray that he will wrap his arms around my hurting child. No matter what she is such a precious gift from God.

Singing the Blues!!!!

I'm always singing the blues. Well, actually it's the blues, reds, darks and whites. My family calls it mount never rest and I call it my worst nightmare. However, all that has changed and my wonderful husband has solved my problem. We got me a new washer and dryer, but also it stacks so that I can hide the unsightly mountain next to the washer and dryer. I am so excited (well as excited as anyone could be over laundry) about the new system. I even have selves to store all my necessary equipment needed to tackle that giant beast. Life doesn't get much better than this.
Isn't Life Good!

The Big 45!!!!

Yesterday was Dad's B-day. We celebrated with a wonderful meal and a Store bought cake. It was very cute, but it just couldn't stand up to a homemade cake. We had a woderful day and I was glad that I could do something special for him. He does so much for us. The kids had a great time and loved that they got cake for breakfast the next day.

Another Snowy Night

It's another snowy night and I'm hoping that school is not cancelled again. I also hope that my wonderful husband makes it home safe and sound. He has been on a business trip and I have been single mom to the kids. I need to get used to that single mom thing, because when the Air Force sends him to CA I will be doing alone for real. What a scary thought. I really enjoy having him around. I'll definitely have pictures to include tomorrow. I'm finally getting the hang of this blog thing.

Where To Start!

I have been told that I should start a Blog. I have been told that we live an amazing life. Although I agree with the last statement I'm not sure how amazing it is to someone that is not personally sharing it with us. I guess I start by saying that I am having an decadent day. I have enjoyed making doughnuts with my girls and now am playing with my new computer. My husband called to say that he would be coming back to town earlier than I had expected and wanted to take me out on a date. How Fun is that! It has been very quite here-- The boys are on a ski trip with their boy scout troop and are not due back until Sunday Afternoon. Although I am enjoying this day it is time to get my carcass up and moving to get some work done around the house. With a large family it is a very rare opportunity to just chill. But, now it is time to get moving. Chores will be handed out soon and we will all get going. Later I will figure out the rest of this blog thing. Have a blessed day-- I know I am having one right now.
